HOLLIS DUPLEXES, OAKLAND

Located on a 10,000 sf infill site in West Oakland, 3245 Hollis has five, four-story duplex residential units. The proposed design plays off of, and enhances, the eclectic mix of building styles found in the neighborhood. The street facing building is broken at the third-story to help transition to the neighboring scale. Sloped roofs are also used to break down the mass and height of the fourth floor as well as give a modern take on the adjacent pitched roof buildings. The proposed exterior materials reflects the surrounding buildings with the use of composite woods and metals.
