This site on the edge of the Central Business District in Oakland reflects the clients’ vision to create “Affordable by Design” housing of studio suites. Each unit is carefully designed to have built-in living, sleeping and eating areas, all within a small space.

These fully furnished modules are also designed with efficient circulation in 5-stories of Type 3 Construction. The site zone allowed 78 units and utilizing the State Density Bonus was able to include 117 units.

The exterior design is a series of interlocking stucco forms that are cut back for the entry, fifth floor roof deck and slight indents for the city grid. The fifth-floor roof deck overlooking Oakland features a kitchen, fire pit and indoor lounge. Amenities also include a ground floor gym, flex work lounge, bike parking and package delivery room.
